NEW YORK - Sep. 8 2022 /PRNewswire/ The Israel Ministry of Tourism today announced new records for the number of tourists coming to Israel from the United States in July and August. Israel welcomed 78,000 tourists from the United States for July 2022. This is a 4 percent increase over 2019 and 71,000 tourists from the United States for August 2022. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IARj0i5sZlw This represents an increase of 13% over 2019.
Eyal Carlin was the North American Tourism Commissioner for North America. "It is exciting to once again witness an increase in tourism Israel from the United States. Already reaching and exceeding our record-breaking number of the year 2019," he stated. "The United States has been our most important destination for tourism to Israel that is inbound. Prior to the outbreak of COVID-19 we had been celebrating record-breaking numbers of Israel's tourism entry each month.
Canada is home to 7,200 tourists in July 2022 and 6,000 in August is not far behind the United States.
Gal Hana, Consul to Canada and Director of Canada at the Israel Ministry of Tourism stated that it was thrilling to see tourism from Canada to Israel returning. "We are not far off our record-setting numbers in 2019 and we anticipate that the growth in travel to Israel will continue to grow as Canadians continue to feel more at ease traveling internationally."
Israel welcomed over 4.6 million tourists in the year of 2019. 969,600 of them were from the United States. The country's officially reopening to travelers in May was a success, with more than 600,000.
